CONTE D’AMOUR at Festival d’Avignon 2012

The companies Institutet from Sweden and Nya Rampen from Finland will present their coproduction CONTE D’AMOUR (direction: Markus Öhrn) at this years Festival d’Avignon.

The piece has been created in May 2010 in Berlin and was awarded in 2011 Best Off-Theater-Production by the Theater Festival Impulse. In 2012 it will be shown also at theatertreffen Berlin and Vienna Festival.
Inspired by the Josef Fritzl affair that caused a stir in 2008 CONTE D’AMOUR relates the daily family life to its abysmally occult body doubly. What if the Fritzl affair wasn’t the act of a lonesome insane? What if it was in fact the growing ideology of our society’s structure?

CONTE D’AMOUR is the first cooperation of the director Markus Öhrn with the two Scandinavian theatre companies Institutet (Sweden) and Nya Rampen (Finland).
